Gales Set New Redbirds Record

Nick Gales (Troy 2019) broke the all time single game strike out record for a Redbirds pitcher today against Festus Legion. Gales throw 6 scoreless innings striking out an astonishing 17 of 18 recorded outs.

Every out of the game other then one was a strike out!

Gales breaks a record that was previously held by Matt Buschmann in 2001. Buschmann who is a Redbirds HOF inductee went on to be a stand out at Vanderbilt University and pitched in the MLB with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Nick was also 3-3 in the game with 2 doubles and 3 RBI's.....

Congrats to Nick and his battery mate Chase Etsel (Webster Groves 2019) on one of the more impressive pitching performances in Redbirds history.
