Outfield Drills

Drop Steps (Rebounder)

The rebounders work very well for fly balls too. You can work on drop steps for both sides.

Have the players start on either side of the rebounder and drop step to the rebounder side.

Once the player makes his first step, the coach throws the ball off the rebounder, and the fielder runs to catch it.

Rebounder Outfield Throws #1

This drill works just like their infield work off the rebounder. The players just start much farther back, and the coach throws the ball off the rebounder, simulating a base hit to the outfield.

This allows the players to work on their speed pick-up from the outfield and get their footwork down to make a hard and accurate throw.
